Ljósmyndarinn - The Photographer
March 2, 1952 - March 19, 2019
The photos on this website represent a tiny fraction of a lifetime's work. We feel it's a pretty good sampling of Magnus's vision of the world through his camera.
Magnus Thordarson was an artist. He didn't consider himself one though, so he rarely shared the photographs that he spent over 50 years of his life capturing. He was always drawn to nature, inspired by the dramatic landscapes of his home country of Iceland, though California's Sierra mountains are where he found his passion truly light up.
He loved the fall colors. He did his best to catch them before they fell.
